Swedish broadcaster MTG said on Wednesday that the company intends to close down its Slovenian television channel and cease operations in the country due to the continued unpropitious media environment there.

Former Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa said Dec. 13 he had won damages for libel from Finnish television YLE over a report it made in 2008 implicating him in a bribery case.
